In Montgenèvre—the fifth-largest ski area in the world and the official host site of the 2030 Winter Olympics—La Soldanelle offers accommodations right on the slopes, in a 240 m² chalet designed to accommodate up to 18 people without ever feeling cramped.

Montgenèvre, the oldest resort in France, founded in 1907, offers its own ski area with 100 km of trails and 37 ski lifts. Connected to the Voie Lactée—Clavières, San Sicario, Césane, Sestrières, and Sauze d’Oulx—it provides access to 400 km of slopes and 91 ski lifts. Montgenèvre will host the snowboarding and ski mountaineering events for the 2026 French Alps Winter Olympics (February 1–17, 2030), with Briançon serving as the Olympic Village just ten minutes away. Booking in Montgenèvre today means settling into a resort whose reputation and property values will continue to rise through 2030 and beyond.

Based in the Hautes-Alpes, we rent 10 chalets for 12 to 24 people in Montgenèvre and Vars. La Soldanelle, 240 m², south-facing on the resort’s southern slope, features 7 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms, with a 180° panoramic view of the mountains. Open year-round, available for weekend or weekly rentals; weekly rentals only from late December through late March and from early July through late August.

GUIDED TOUR

The chalet is spread over 3 floors. Ground floor: movie theater, 3 double bedrooms, radiant sauna, separate shower room and restroom, access to the large terrace and solarium with a 360° mountain view. Sun loungers for tanning, a table for coffee, and a jacuzzi heated to 37° to end the day.

One floor up: a large living area open to the dining room and kitchen, with large windows overlooking the slopes, a fourth bedroom, and a shower room with a separate toilet. On the top floor: three additional bedrooms, a shower room with a whirlpool tub, a separate toilet, and a recreation room with a foosball table and PlayStation so the kids and teens can have fun on their own.

LOCATION AND ACCESS

In a quiet neighborhood of Montgenèvre, 500 m from the slopes. The free shuttle stop is right in front of the chalet and takes you to the slopes in less than 5 minutes. No need for a car once you’re here: the Oulx (Italy) TGV station is 20 km away, Turin Airport is 100 km away, and Briançon is 10 km away—both connected by shuttle service to the resort.

SUMMER IN MONTGENÈVRE

The Hautes-Alpes enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year. Electric mountain biking with the family or downhill mountain biking on designated trails, dozens of mountain passes accessible from the chalet, hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails in the Southern Alps, bodies of water, waterfalls, high-altitude lakes, and rafting and canoeing on the Durance River. For kids: tree-top adventure courses for ages 5 and up, rock climbing, via ferrata, canyoning, and the chalet’s ping-pong table for quiet days.

During the winter and summer seasons, rentals run from Sunday to Sunday, with weekend rentals available depending on the time of year. Dogs are welcome; cats are not.
