The accommodation
Chalet Le Mélèze Rustique
4 stars furnished accommodation

4 double bedrooms, a kitchen-living room, an office, 2 WCs and two separate bathrooms (a shower in one, a bathtub in the other).
Office for teleworking isolated from the living room if needed.

2 balconies + 400 square meters of land around the house.

Electric heating in all rooms, except the hallway and the toilets. Wood stove in the living room/kitchen. Wood supplied with the rental.

Electric infrared sauna, cabin for 3 persons.

2 libraries (including children's books) + CDs, DVDs and board games available. 1 toy for young children. Wifi and TV.

Kitchen : raclette machine, fondue machine, crepe maker for 6 persons at disposal. Large freezer, dishwasher, large fridge, microwave, oven, induction cooker. Senseo coffee maker, toaster, kettle, kitchen scale, rice cooker. Classic dishes and kitchen utensils.

General equipment: washing machine, clothes line, bed and baby chair. 2 pillows per person. A hair dryer, a straightening iron and a curling iron. A sofa, two armchairs in the living room and 2 plaids.

Cellar access for storing wine.

WINTER: 4 shovel sleds and 3 large sleds available.
2 pairs of snowshoes.

SUMMER: a hammock on stand, 6 deck chairs, 1 large outdoor table with 8 chairs, a small outdoor table with 5 logs.
Access for travelers
Free parking at 50m from the accommodation.
Place to unload next to the chalet if roads are well cleared on the day of arrival.
Then free shuttle bus at 50m from the accommodation. 7 minutes for access to the slopes and ski lifts (Galibier Thabor area), as well as to a mini-market, ski rental, ski pass office, ESF office, restaurant, brasserie, etc...
5 minutes + 20 minutes for access to Valmeinier 1800 (resort center).
Other remarks
The use of a wood stove implies some additional constraints to the use of a simple electric heater: carrying wood logs to feed your fire and emptying the ashes of the stove outside the house after each use.
It also implies respecting the safety rules to avoid the risk of fire in the cottage.

In case of snowfall, you will have to clear the snow from the access road to the chalet yourself (3 snow shovels are at your disposal).

Please note that the access road can be difficult in winter (presence of ice which makes it slippery).
